Frustration with available QA tools

The time our QA team spent copying and pasting content into different formats to make the files compatible with existing document quality assurance software was frustrating. It was inefficient, not to mention boring and risky. All that manual work increased the chances of errors, requiring us to double-check everything to ensure accuracy. Expensive, time-consuming, and unenjoyable. Surely, there had to be a better way, I thought.

The QA tool for text and translation professionals

Erik explains:
“In 2020, I was performing QA checks daily, handling a wide variety of file formats. Clients often asked agencies to work with their preferred tools, and some files were incredibly difficult to check. With certain tools, it wasn’t even possible to create a usable export, forcing me to rely on built-in QA tools that didn’t meet a high enough standard.

Coding had been my hobby for quite some time, so I started experimenting at home. I discovered new ways to perform QA checks for translations: faster, far more effectively, and without unnecessary steps. What began as a simple tool to convert one file type to another evolved into a comprehensive QA tool for text and translation professionals.”

No issue left unnoticed

Suzanne shares:
“Erik came to me to show what he had developed. As a linguist, I was immediately excited. In the past, I had worked as a linguistic software tester at Apple, so I decided to help Erik with running tests and integrating the tool into my daily projects. This QA tool for linguists was a game changer. Whenever Erik developed something new, he sent it to me first to test and provide feedback. My insights into what was needed often complemented Erik’s technical expertise. Together, we became a well-oiled machine.

In 2021, we decided to share the software with a few others performing QA checks for translations – our colleagues at Ludejo. Their feedback further refined the tool, and it became clear we needed a third perspective, so we brought Malon on board.”

Malon Hamoen – Chief Flyer – Gets It Done

While I have less technical expertise than Suzanne and Erik, I bring extensive experience in the world of text and language to the table. Together, we realized the tool needed a name and a clear direction. Once fully developed, we aimed to launch it to help more professionals enhance their work processes.

Malon adds:
“Suzanne and Erik, my colleagues at Ludejo Studios, told me about the tool’s development. Ludejo means ‘playground’ in Esperanto, and that’s exactly what I envisioned: a place where people feel free to change, adapt, or contribute valuable ideas to grow and improve workflows. Seeing software being developed independently to improve our translation workflow was incredibly inspiring.

With the rise of LLMs (AI), that make content creation more accessible, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to terminology has become even more crucial. That’s why we brought this translation workflow improvement tool to the market: to empower professionals with a user-friendly solution that supports quality without compromise.”
